November is National Hospice and Palliative Care Month.
Hospice care is something that our #RegentFamily is very passionate about.
You may not know this, but Regent Healthcare is licensed to assist a patient in their end-of-life care. We have a team of nurses who provide compassionate caregiving and have the assessment knowledge that is so important to patients and their families. We can also provide medication administration and work alongside their chosen hospice organization.
Not only do we care for our clients who need hospice care, we have employees who volunteer at one of the local hospice organizations on a bi-weekly basis.
Why is hospice care so important to us?
For many reasons. Hospice care is a very misunderstood concept. There is a common misconception that offering hospice care to a loved one means you’re abandoning them or giving up hope. That is simply untrue.
Hospice care offers more time to patients who have exhausted all other care options–more time to grieve, accept their diagnosis, find peace, and connect with family.
At Regent, we want to give our patients as much time with their loved ones as possible, which is why we offer hospice support to our clients who need it.
