Being able to recognize the signs of a stroke is imperative to a timely and effective response. That’s why we want all of our Regent caregivers and the public to be educated on how to recognize the signs.
Remember the acronym FAST
Ask the client to smile. Does one side of the face droop or appear unequal?
Ask the client to raise both arms. Does one arm appear weaker or drift down?
Ask the client to repeat a phrase/sentence. Is their speech slurred or sound strange?
If you see any of these signs call 911 ASAP!
