Our Caregiver, Patra has been caring for a Regent client whom has advanced dementia with behavioral disturbances for some time. This is a difficult case but she has been a perfect fit and the family/client love her. At Regent’s first In-Service of 2019, Patra was educated on how to identify the signs and symptoms of a Urinary Tract Infection. The following week, she noticed the client was showing signs of a UTI and was fast acting in caring for his needs. Patra educated his wife, assisted her in getting the support from his PCP and once the tests confirmed his condition, he was placed on antibiotics. Patra showed excellent skills in early identification of a UTI and assisted in getting him the appropriate treatment while supporting his wife. If Patra had not done the above actions then he would have become progressively worse possibly requiring hospitalization. The client’s wife was very thankful for Patra and Regent’s hand in helping her husband. Way to go Patra! Thank you for all that you do for Regent and our extended families!
